This morning we leave straight after breakfast for nearby Dunnottar Castle. The sight of the castle is breathtaking, and we are literally surrounded by beautiful scenery: From high cliffs and green hills to the clear blue sea, everything is here. We enjoy the countryside around the castle and take plenty of photos and drone videos. After the castle our route takes us through the national park, where we soak up the scenery and the fresh air. There are so many beautiful views that we can’t get enough of them. On the way we also see some Highland cattle. Next we set ourselves a goal: To finally take a high-resolution photo of Nessie, the Loch Ness monster, and settle once and for all the doubts about its existence that stem from the low-resolution photos taken so far. So we make our way to the famous Loch Ness and start with Urquhart Castle, which turns out to be a real tourist trap. We have hardly ever seen so many tourists in one place on our Scotland trip, and the castle isn’t particularly well preserved either. The view over Loch Ness is quite interesting, though, and of course we take a few photos. Afterwards we head to our new Airbnb in Golspie, where a kind elderly lady, the owner of the house, welcomes us. We did some shopping on the way, and afterwards we really enjoy dinner in our room.

The breathtaking Dunnottar Castle on its cliffs is the perfect start to the day, followed by Highland cows by the roadside. At Loch Ness we want to finally take a sharp photo of Nessie, but instead we find a veritable tourist trap at Urquhart Castle. We spend the night at the home of a kind elderly lady in Golspie.
