Happy birthday to youuu, happy birthday to youu… Today is Annina’s 25th birthday! Nicolas surprises Annina first thing in the morning with a very sweetly arranged breakfast with everything Annina likes. There are even balloons shaped like a 25 and lots of cherry tomatoes and blueberry muffins.

The day couldn’t start more perfectly. And it goes on just as wonderfully. In the afternoon we drive to a neighbouring little village to buy everything for the evening. We also want to buy a prosecco to toast with. Here in Sweden you have to go to a liquor store specially to buy alcohol. We drive to Åre and go to the Coop and Systembolaget and buy a small bottle of rosé prosecco. Nicolas is set on getting a cake as well, but unfortunately we can’t find one in the Coop. Luckily, though, there is a chocolate factory nearby with a small shop that sells slices of chocolate cake! We spend the rest of the day in the beautiful accommodation that Nicolas booked as a surprise for Annina’s birthday and enjoy the lovely weather on the balcony. Annina receives a few birthday wishes and of course we do our workout too. In the evening there is an apero with prosecco and truffle chips on the balcony in the evening sun.

Annina also calls her family, who have prepared a very creative and funny video as a surprise. It was about imitating Annina in typical situations. We laugh a lot, the surprise is a success. But the surprises never end! Nicolas hands Annina one more present, and what a present! It was wrapped in baking paper and stuck shut with black tape as best he could, he even found some ribbons in the house to decorate the parcel. The very scruffily wrapped present causes great hilarity. Inside the baking paper is a backpack with a Sweden print, which had caught Annina’s eye in a shop a few days ago. She is delighted with the great present, what a great souvenir of this trip! Afterwards we eat on Spanish time, and at Annina’s request there is potato gratin with vegetarian chicken nuggets and salad. We both enjoy everything very much. The cake comes only later, first we carry on writing the blog and editing photos. Shortly before midnight we then have the absolutely delicious chocolate cake. Nicolas even decorated the cake with candles. And so a wonderful birthday comes to an end. Thank you very much to everyone!
