Mini-villa and fireplace

After Nicolas' blue-hour session at Hamnøy we move into the mini-villa overlooking Sakrisøy's orange rorbuer. At the frozen Rambergstranda the frost sculpts bizarre sand formations, and at low tide we walk far out, before the evening turns properly cosy in front of the (fake) fireplace with crackling sound effects.

Mini-villa and fireplace

Nicolas gets up early this morning to photograph and film the blue and golden hour at Hamnøy. Afterwards he makes us breakfast, which we enjoy together. We pack and check out, it’s our last day at this accommodation. We’re moving to a place directly opposite the current one: a mini-villa, a tiny house designed from the outside like a sweet little villa, with a view of the beautiful orange Sakrisøy rorbuer. We already know what awaits us, having stayed in this mini-villa once before, in September the year before last. But today, after breakfast, we first head out on a drive: to Rambergstranda, which is very impressive right now, the sand is frozen into beautiful formations, and with the tide out we can walk far onto what is normally seabed. There are some lovely shells lying on the beach, but we don’t take any. We continue to Fredvang, where we survey the wave-rich, windy beach with the drone.

After a few more stops we drive back towards the southern Lofoten, first pausing at Anita’s Café in Sakrisøy for carrot cake, a chocolate muffin and a cappuccino with a view of the snowy landscape. After checking into the mini-villa and settling in, we edit photos and enjoy our dinner in front of an artificial fireplace, which we upgrade by playing the sound of a crackling fire, spreading a properly cosy atmosphere.
